“I’m thinking of a color…”
I am truly blessed to have grow up with an aunt who was blind.
It may seem odd, but one of her favorite games was, “I’m thinking of a color…”
Not only did her guessing game make me fall in love with color, her blindness encouraged me to describe what I saw in greater detail. Although Mimmi passed many years ago, I still cherish the little world we shared.
Describing what you “see”
I don’t know how you did it, but you took the ideas I had in my head and interpreted them with words and images — even the ones I didn’t articulate! What you do is really unique. — Cliff Martin
As a graphic designer I combine my love of color and page design, with my editorial experience at Glamour, Mademoiselle and Weight Watcher’s Magazine, to help my clients communicate their message with beauty and clarity.
I’m always striving to bring out the best qualities in my clients, so that others can see their strengths.
Design for print and web
For many years I designed only printed pieces such as brochures, publications, promotional materials, and trade show banners. I still design printed pieces on request.
In 2003 I created my first website using Dreamweaver, but since 2012 I’ve used only WordPress.
Why I switched to WordPress
Coaches, authors and independent consultants began asking if I could design a website that they could control.
Many of my clients had been burned by web developers who charged them thousands of dollars for a custom website. When they needed a small change these same web developers were unresponsive, or out of business.
They felt trapped.
WordPress was the perfect fit because I could give my clients exactly what they wanted — and needed — a professional, profitable website with all the bells and whistles that they owned and controlled.
Install, build, train
If you want more than a one-page WordPress blog, things get complicated.
That does not mean you should give up control of your site to someone else. You should not. And that does not mean you need to build your own site to stay in control. You do not.
You don’t need to know how to build a WordPress site, you just need to know how to use it.
After I install and customize my clients’ WordPress sites, I teach them (or a staff member) how to use it so they can save money making their own updates, and posting their own blogs.
Creating a website that builds your business
I want my clients to have a strong online presence. To me that means keeping up with WordPress, SEO, online marketing best practices, and Google Analytics.
Annually you can find me at WordPress Camps in Boston and Rhode Island, in Santa Fe at a Perfect Customers’ roundtable, and at online marketing conference such as Jeff Walker’s PLF (Product Launch Formula) Live.

Nancy understood what we needed for a successful site, and not just a good looking site. And trust me, that’s a distinction a whole lot of graphic designers just don’t seem to grasp. — Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel

Nancy’s designs are very eye catching and compelling. I always get wonderful compliments on her work for her composition and color choices. I use Nancy for every design project. — Jane Karakula, Theatre production
I came to Nancy needing to be rescued from a previous graphic design experience that had gone awry. Nancy was patient and reassuring as we started to work together. I asked her for something ‘inspired’ which I know was not an easy request to fill.
Nancy responded to my somewhat vague and changing ideas with creativity and patience while holding me to a high level of quality. After the design work was completed she guided me though the process of having my materials printed. She offered comments and suggestions about important details, which made a critical difference in the quality of what was produced. This saved me time and money and a set of lovely, creative and inspired promotional materials resulted.
I look forward to working with Nancy again for future graphic design needs. — Janet Bunce, President & CEO, Care for Our Elders.
