Search engine robots don’t care how your website looks because they’re machines. Their job is to answer your questions. They do that by serving up relevant content.
Customers are interested in who we are, but they care more about their problems than about us.
It took a long time for me to change my website because the search engine robots liked my content. The problem was people didn’t like how my website looked.

Why Didn’t I Change My Website Sooner?
It’s a lot of work to change a website.
Work, holidays, vacation time, “life.”
My excuses sounded good until I heard someone say…
“If You Avoid Change You Won’t Transform“
Then the ‘Universe’ gave me another jolt: Hero On A Mission by Donald Miller.
Miller wrote about the difference between a hero and a victim. The hero knows what they want and they want to change. The hero is willing to walk through the fire. Endure the struggles. Face whatever life throws at them to get to the finish line.
What makes them lovable is they want something good. Something different that will help others, too.
The hero personality is in all of us.
The good news is, heros need a guide.
Heros Need You
When the want-to-be hero lands on your website, your copy and images need to let them know they are in the right place.
That also means you need to know what you want, and how you can can help them reach their goal.
If your website is all about you as the hero, you might get some love, but you’re not going to attract customers.
Ready to change your website?
Before you start designing a new website ask yourself:
- What are you selling?
- How does it make your perfect customer’s life better?
- Where can they buy it?
