I have worked with Nancy for several years now on a variety of design projects.  What I value most about Nancy is her ingenuity: she can take a complex project and find an effective way to convey the message or bring a text to life. Her work is uncluttered and original. — Mary Irwin, Gifts & Development Officer Friends of the Smith College Libraries

I came to Nancy needing to be rescued from a previous graphic design experience that had gone awry. Nancy was patient and reassuring as we started to work together. I asked her for something ‘inspired’ which I know was not an easy request to fill.

Nancy responded to my somewhat vague and changing ideas with creativity and patience while holding me to a high level of quality. After the design work was completed she guided me though the process of having my materials printed. She offered comments and suggestions about important details, which made a critical difference in the quality of what was produced. This saved me time and money and a set of lovely, creative and inspired promotional materials resulted.

I look forward to working with Nancy again for future graphic design needs. — Janet Bunce, President & CEO, Care for Our Elders

The interactive poem board helped solve a problem the Museum had long been tackling.  Dickinson’s practice of playing with words in her poems is vital to understanding her composition process.  For many years we relied on explaining this process with a simple handout and an oral explanation of her practice.

The interactive board made it possible to put Dickinson’s poems in “3D,” showing Dickinson in motion.  Visitors are astonished by her word play—exactly the reaction we hoped for.  At the same time, the board allows them to engage in word play, too. It’s a highlight of the tour. — Cindy Dickinson, Director of Interpretation and Programming

black & white logo: Montague Timber Frames. Tag line: Standing Tree to Standing Timber. Silhouette of oak tree and timber frame corner with company name and tagline below.

Working with Nancy was an incredible experience and an integral step in starting my business. I came to Nancy with little to no creative input about how to design my company’s logo or business stationery. Little did I know that a well designed logo present such a professional identity when put in the hands of the right person.

Taking Nancy’s creative ideas to print shops and web designers has been an eye opening experience. Nancy made these next steps so easy for me. Thanks to my company’s logo being prepared for print and web, she also made it easy for the next person to work with my new logo. Thanks to my partnership with Nancy, I know my company’s presentation and professional appearance is in good hands, in the present and future.” — Mike Williams, Montague Timber Frames, Montague, MA

Nancy’s work in designing my company logo, impressed me on multiple levels. She had an uncanny sense for what I was thinking but hadn’t yet said aloud. She listened to what I was looking for and then brought forward beautiful design ideas for me to consider. Nancy went out of her way to find the solutions. I’ll recommend her for any design work.” — Francis vanWyk, Create Client Chemistry, Doha, Qatar

Web Headers

May 29, 2000 by Nancy Fields Leave a Comment

For Websites, Newsletters, and Social Media

web header for drkaayladaniel.com

Facebook banner for Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel
facebook.com/DrKaaylaDaniel

Many times, a new web header design is all that’s need to energize a website. That’s exactly what Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel, The Naughty Nutritionist® chose to do.

For brand consistency Dr. Daniel’s social media banners will carry the same theme. The reason they don’t look exactly the same is because web header banners and social media banners are different sizes, so new design solutions are required with each banner design: Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

The new FB banner looks great and I’m very pleased. — Dr. Kaayla T. Daniel

Caryn Chow is a life coach who loves to fly…her own plane. She wanted her web header to reflect her passion for flying, as well as the type of lifestyle she’s helping her clients achieve: one that is mindful, calm and spiritual.

Nancy really takes the time to ‘listen’ to her clients to ensure she has their vision, and once captured she embellishes the vision with her remarkable creativity. I especially love my little gift – a color chart I can use for any project! Nancy’s professionalism is outstanding, and she is a delight to work with. — Caryn Chow

blue and green web header: Lorrie Beck Coaching. Tagline: Live the life you crave. Photo of Lorrie Beck on left
lorriebeckcoaching.com

Refreshing aqua blue kept “calling to me” as I was designing Lorrie Beck’s webheader, so it came as a pleasant surprise to learn how much Lorrie loves the water, and the swimming event in her triathlon competitions.

My goal was to make the header background lively and hopeful because although Lorrie is also a multi-sport coach, this site is devoted to Lorrie Beck’s other coaching business: helping people overcome their eating disorders.

Nancy did a wonderful job developing my website header and graphics.  She is very talented, creative and professional and spent time talking with me until I had a very clear picture of what I was looking for. She is also very enthusiastic and goes out of her way to be helpful. I would highly recommend Nancy for designing websites and graphics. It was a pleasure working with her.. — Lorrie Beck

Web header: Lacey Swartz presents…Wellness Pro Summit Empowering You to Empower the World: Business Insights & Ideas for Today's Wellness Professional. Blue background. Lacey Swartz photo on right
wellnessprosummit.com

Lacey Swartz is owner of KVorganics.com, and an independent representative for Miessence organic products. She is passionate about Sustainable Network Marketing, and her desire to use and sell products that are neither harmful to people or their environment.

I came to know Lacey through our Impact Mastermind group. She is someone who truly lives a life of sustainability and service, and I wanted to capture these qualities in her design. The challenge was to create two different web headers to address two different needs:

  1. One that would attract visitors to Lacey’s sustainable living community website
  2. Another to promote her 10 day online, live wellness summit.

In both cases, Lacey was very clear about her objectives and her color palette — as well as which web header needed a head shot, and which one did not.

She welcomed my accent color recommendations and font suggestions, and continues to use these in all her promotional materials.

The collaborative process giving birth to the final results was such an enjoyable experience. I so appreciated how you took my vague thoughts in the beginning, gave me something to start with visually, listened to my gut response feedback, tweaked things, and brought forth a perfect result for what I needed. I would highly recommend you to anyone needing graphic design services. — Lacey Swartz

craniosacralwithshana.com

Shana Anolik needed a new website in four days. Fortunately I helped her build her first WordPress website so we could take many of the same properties to create a simple yet beautiful web header for her new business.

Nancy responded to my call right away, and I could tell she was committed to helping my new business succeed.

She asked me all the right questions to get a  clear idea of exactly what I was looking for. With state of the art technology, and her keen sense of artistic design, everything she created surpassed my initial hopes!  — Shana Anolik

web header: Two Centre Street Restoration Project. Tagline: Saving Nantucket's Historic Methodist Church. Web header contains two exterior photos and two interior photos. Map of Nantucket inset on exterior photo of Main Street.
www.twocentrestrestorationproject.com

Two Centre Street Restoration Project requested a web header that showed both the exterior and interior architecture. Using photos taken by members of the church, I create a photo montage and added it beneath the navigation menu to keep the focus on this magnificent building.

Until I worked with Nancy and saw her construct a photo montage, I had no idea of the design and technical experience that was required to create a header like this. It’s been fascinating seeing our design come alive.— Jane Karakula

ebook cover, inside spread, and MP3 cover graphic "How To Balance Your Hormones Naturally" by Janet R. Bowen RN, FNR, AHN-BC
naturalhormonebalancing.com

Janet Bowen wanted to share her one-hour audio recorded presentation as both an MP3 and an eBook. To bring her transcript to life, I:

  • broke it down into readable chunks with headlines and subheads
  • chose a font style and color to complement her website, and
  • found royalty free images to create a beautiful 14 page ebook.

Interested prospects can download a PDF copy of Janet’s ebook and a MP3 of her original recording after subscribing to her email list at naturalhormonebalancing.com.

I had no idea what to expect when I first contracted with you. What you have developed for me from what I gave to you has been beyond my wildest dreams! Thank you for the amazing work you do! Outstanding in my mind! — Janet Bowen

ebook cover and inside page spread "Harriet Linder's S.T.A.R. recipes: Savory, Tasty, Alkalizing, Revitalizing"
www.betterlivingwellness.com

Although Harriet Linder’s website is predominantly blue, she loves red. Red is also the perfect accent color for this site because it draws attention to the very place Harriet wants her prospects to take action: signing up for her newsletter. Red is also a color that stimulates the appetite, so it was a perfect choice for a book of recipes.

I like that you are proactive, have a lot of fresh ideas and offer suggestions. The e-book was sensational and extremely professional looking. — Harriet Linder

ebooks "Top 10 Ways to Skyrocket your Energy" "10 Secrets to Jumpstart Your Juicy Life Now" and CD "3 Most Important Foods to Balance Women's Hormones" by Donna Brook
juicylivingforwomen.com

Donna Brook’s coach encouraged her to show the depth and breadth of her skills and knowledge as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a certified holistic health coach. She also wanted her two free e-books to look similar but different, so the decision was made to design Donna’s e-books in a magazine style using:

  1. bright bold headlines
  2. lots of tips that were easy-to-consume, with
  3. pictures to keep her readers’ attention.

I love the images. It really adds a nice touch. I really love your work. It looks great! — Donna Brook RN, FNP-BC

ebook cover and inside page images "7 Keys for Eliminating Joint and Back Pain" by Cliff Martin
learnpainfree.com

Martial Arts instructor, systems engineer and physicist, Cliff Martin has a no nonsense approach to work and life. My aim was to design a cover and inside spread that complimented Cliff’s message and his personality: a design that was simple, elegant, a pleasure to read, direct and to the point.

Nancy Fields, the graphic genius, designed my free ebook give away. I love her work and enthusiasm. — Cliff Martin

ebook graphic and inside spread "5 Easy Steps to Project Success" by Julia Donnelly & Linda Sanders
getproductivewithus.com

Julia Donnelly and Linda Sanders’ book on project management for parents contains lots of useful information plus checklists, spreadsheets and forms. The challenge in designing their condensed free e-book was to inform but not overwhelm. How? By using:

  • lots of white space
  • a narrow text column, plus
  • large numbers in the extra wide margins

Nancy did an outstanding job. — Julia Donnelly and Linda Sanders

ebook covers and inside page spread "Your Hunger Triggers & Scale" and "Mindful Eating" by Lorrie Beck, Mindful & Emotional Eating Coach, Multi-Sport Coach. CD cover "Secrets to Changing Your Relationship with Food To Rock YOur Life!" Audio Download by Lorrie Beck
lorriebeckcoaching.com

Triathletes run, cycle and swim. “I love the water!” said triathlete and coach Lorrie Beck. She also loves aqua which is how I arrived at the color for her free offer and web header.

Nancy is very talented, creative and professional and spent time talking with me until I had a very clear picture of what I was looking for. She is also very enthusiastic and goes out of her way to be helpful. — Lorrie Beck

Stop Guessing — Find Out If Anyone Likes Your Free Stuff

July 15, 0204 by Nancy Fields Leave a Comment

Soccer Goal, With Sun And Blue SkyGot Goals?

I’m so glad my client asked me “How do I use Google Analytics?” because after years of ignoring this program I’m now using the most powerful and important feature within Google Analytics — goals. If you haven’t set up goals, you’re not alone. Most businesses only read reports, thinking the value is in the numbers.

Google Analytics reports can tell you how many visitors came to your site over a period of time, but goals allow you to measure and make improvements based on what visitors did when they were on your site.

How Do You Know If Anyone Likes Your Free Stuff?

To determine if your free offer is truly irresistible begin by finding out if your prospects:

  • actually downloaded your free offer after they signed up?
  • It also be helpful to know if they came to your site from social media, or through an organic search, as well as
  • what other pages they looked at, before signing  up?

Then track your success by setting up a Destination Goal.
