When it snows and school is cancelled I feel lucky. Mind you, I’m neither a student or a teacher. Like the postal service, my work continues regardless of the weather, but school cancellations due to snow brings back one happy memory, in particular.
The school play was scheduled for the following day. I had flubbed so many lines during dress rehearsal the other cast members were getting concerned. There was no way I could remember all those lines in time for the all-school assembly in less than 24 hours. Furthermore, the pangs of stage fright were beginning to take hold, and the fear that, what little I did remember, would soon vanish from my memory the minute the curtain rose.
That night before going to bed I got down on my hands and knees and prayed with all my might for divine intervention. It worked! The promises made in exchange for that glorious, sparkling white stuff, have long since been forgotten, but I was saved. At least temporarily.
Have you ever prayed for a miracle and got it?
